Introduction

Every child is special for us. A proper history and clinical examination are the most important factors for diagnosis. A disease related to nervous system may include all the system. So every systems are checked carefully including phsical growth monitorinf by weighing weight, measuring height, OFC, calciulating BMI.Blood pressure, heart rate and breathing will be checked. A head-to-toe physical exam will be done. Patient's privacy is also maintained.

Analysis

Measurement of weight, length and head circumference to determine if your baby is growing normally. Looking at your baby’s head, ears, eyes and mouth to ensure normal growth. Checking the skin for birthmarks or rashes. Pressing on your baby’s abdomen to detect enlarged organs or an umbilical hernia. Inspecting your baby’s genitalia for tenderness, lumps or other signs of infection.

Conclusions

Whether any noticeable behavioral changes have occurred. Your child’s and families’ general well-being. How your child reacts to strangers. How your child plays and interacts with peers. Your child’s language, hearing and social skills.

Qualification

She achieved her MBBS from Rangpur Medical College Hospital. After that, she completed her MCPS in pediatrics from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. Then She completed MD on General Pediatrics from Bangladesh instititue of child health and Dhaka Shishu Hospital under Dhaka University.

Work Experience

After completion of MBBS she started to work in general pediatric for 3 years parallelly worked in different Neonatal and pediatric Intensive care unit of different Hospital for like Dhaka shishu nobojatok, United, Labaid and Modern hospital. Her journey in pediatric neurology is for more than 8 years. She sincerely worked as resident medical officer (Paediatrics) at Dhaka Shishu (Children)hospital. Currently she is working as an assistant professor in Pediatric neuroscience department of Bangladesh institute of child health and Dhaka Shishu hospital. She has trained on neurophysilogy ( Basisc concepts on EEG) by BCNEPS. She also did a short course in stem cell therapy.
She is working successfully on ketogenic diet for different neurological disorder.

Awards, Achievements, and membership

Dr. Shayla has worked on different topics in pediatric neurology since 2014. She first received an award at the International Conference on physics in clinical medicine and Neurology for a free paper submission on EEG. Since then she has worked on different topics on pediatric neurology like neonatal neurology, cerebral palsy, mental health, and gastroenterology conferences in BAPSGAN.

Journey in pediatric neurology

A pediatrician is a doctor that provides preventive health maintenance for healthy children as well as provide medical care for children who are either acutely or chronically ill. After few days of working in pediatrics  she got interest on working with disable child as the children not only need treatment and therapy , empathy is the important part of managing a disable child. Pediatric neurology  is a collaborative specialty. Early detection and diagnosis is very important for proper management, that also reduces the severity of the disease. She had been started working in pediatric neurology since 2006, initially as a trainee under the supervision of Professor Naila zaman khan, an internationally renound pediatric neurologist and founder of pediatric neurology in Bangladesh. In her training she was trained with the management of different pediatric neurological disorder, presented papers in different national and international conferences. 

Apart from it she also carefully treat all the age groups from neonate up to the age of 18 years to reduce infant and child mortality, control infectious diseases, foster healthy lifestyles, and to ease the difficulties of children and adolescents with chronic conditions.  Her area of management is  also enriched with her personal interest on early child hood development, mental health disorders and genetic disorders . In collaboration with other government and nongovernment organization she is involved in different research works on pediatric neurology. 

Sometimes parents got very much exhausted with the management of special child. In that case she try to give a proper guideline and advise to the parents.
